Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Judy Jo - Welcome to BC Moms group!! We are glad you are here. Be sure to come say hi on our group page. When you get there, scroll down past the information, past the discussion section and you will come to a comment wall on that page as well. That is where we do our daily chatter, post our ups and downs of this BC journey and ask questions and receive as up to date information as we have to share with you.

This site is best viewed on a computer, it is easier to navigate in my opinion. If on a mobile device be sure to try it out in desktop mode.

BNMHs (Big Navy Mom Hugs!) - My son has been in 4 years and is out in the fleet now after 2 years of school.

First Things First-- The Quarantine Edition

Here are some links for you to read over.

Keep your phone on you at all times and that ringer on loud as you don't want to miss that first call home. Keep saying I love you.

Welcome again.

If you ever need anything feel free to click on my picture or B'sNukeMom's picture and it will take you to our profile page where you can post a comment and we will reply. Mine are set to moderate which just means it doesn't become public immediately and I may not reply for awhile. The BC MOM group is also your best reach out area as well.

Also, this site is not as mobile device friendly as other sites so we recommend you use a computer at least to get familiar with the site. I don't post on anything but my computer, but I am still not tech savvy on my phone. If on a mobile device we recommend putting it in desktop mode to view better.

Judy Jo  - Welcome to N4M site. I noticed your comment in the main room chat. I wanted to make sure that you know to come join us in the BC Mom and loved ones group. Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) - Navy For Moms (ning.com) - Note any of the pages that are highlighted in blue below in B'sNuke Moms comment are all hyperlinks to other pages and information on this site, including the BC Moms group but I gave you the link as well.

Please come join us there. Not many people see the posts in the Main room chat and that group page gets a lot more activity and more members see the posts. So when you go to the page, there is a lot of good information to read, but scroll past that, scroll past the discussion area and you will come to a comment wall like what is here on your profile page. That is where we do all of our daily chatter in the group. Once you join, please be sure and come introduce yourself.

Some things to know if still time - be sure your son knows to call or text you with his flight # and airline so that you can follow him on a flight tracker online. Ask him to call you when he lands in Chicago. This will be the last phone call you will have for certain. When he gets to BC they are to call with a scripted call that sounds like a recording depending on how they talk. We all just say, "I love you" over and over while they are reading their script. But do try to also listen as you may be given updated info with regards to PIR.  Then the great silence starts and it will be a few weeks before you receive the form letter with his address. "No News is Good News" - Hold tight to that, come chat with us, and find something to keep yourself busy. Start writing letters of just daily news and family things. Number them and be ready to mail them when you get an address.  BMMHs (Big Navy Mom Hugs)

Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

Head to “Settings” on the main page right away to add a profile image (no last names visible, please) and complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.  This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you, and we look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.  Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!
