I am married with 3 children. One son, who is my PR, and two daughters. I don't come from a military family. Although my father served in the Navy on a GI Bill. My brother in law just retired Air Force and father in law retired Army. Saying that I do not know a lot about the process. But I'm learning.
I am very patriotic. I totally respect and honor all who serve and have served. I am so proud of my son for choosing to go Navy. He is the light of my life, and I am missing him like crazy.

Welcome to our Nuke Mom's group! We are a pretty active group with sailors in various places in the nuke pipeline. Be sure to read the pages (9) that are to the right under the member profiles. You will find lots of good info there and in the discussion forum. If you don't find something you are looking for, feel free to ask! We are all in this together ;-)
(My son finished the nuke pipeline in January & is now in VA on the USS Truman.)
Since you have a Recruit at the RTC, you should change "In the NROTC program" above to "Enlisted" because NROTC refers to the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps, a college scholarship program. You aren't the first person to make that mistake and you won't be the last. You can make that change on the same page when you change your Username and the ZIP Code.
I see you have joined your PIR group; I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
If your Username contains your last name, you need to make changes 1, 2, and 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). (If it doesn't, you still need to make change 3.) There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.
You will find this site very helpful and full of members who are eager to answer your questions. Browse around the site and check out the forums, groups, blogs, photos, videos, and even the other member profiles!
