Since you have a Sailor, you can change "At Boot Camp now" above to “Enlisted.”
If you get an error message, then look at the area/s in the error message and unclick all of the choices in the area/s and make choices closer to the question/s. Some choices may have changed since you joined.
I sent changes in a PM. PM's are found in the Inbox in the upper left.
Karla,
I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!! We are a close, friendly, supportive group of Moms and look forward to getting to know you and your sailor. I see you are new to N4Ms and your daughter is in boot camp now? Please feel free to jump in and join our conversations on our group page. You can ask any questions you may have, talk freely about your feelings, fears or concerns, or just chat about life. We are all in different phases of our daughter’s Naval careers - from newbies to those whose daughters have been in for several years - from officer to enlisted!!! We support all our sailor girls and each other as well. Not just during the Bootcamp days but the weeks and months following, as they go off to school, first duty station, or first deployment. Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!! Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!!
Karla - I see your son has a nuke contract. Please join our NUKE moms.
My son is Ship 03 DIV 384. We are from NH. Last call we received was Thursday 8/30. Fingers crossed everything is going well. No news is good news??
You may want to join Navy Reserve Moms.
What is your daughter's rating (job) or field going to be?
Divisions 405 and 406 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 (BST) together, so look for others with loved ones in either division. Write to your recruit and ask when Battle Stations-21 (BST) will be so you will know when to expect the "I'm a Sailor!" call.
Since your recruit has a contract for the Nuclear Field, join NUKE moms; you may also want to check out Nuke A School FAQ and Nuke School Charleston. You may want to check out these facebook pages: Naval Support Activity Charleston, SC and Naval Nuclear Power Training Command Facebook page.
The Rating Information Card for NF can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/nukepower.pdf. (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.) https://www.thebalancecareers.com/navy-enlisted-rating-descriptions-nuclear-field-3345847 has some good info for you.
Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. Plan to leave late Saturday or on Sunday. See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
Your Sailor may have Prototype in Ballston Spa, NY; if so, join Moms/Dads/Families with Nukes in Ballston Spa, NYat that time. Some stay in Charleston.
Did you hear from your son? My daughter is in his ship and division.. :)
