OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Profile Information

A little about me:
I am the Mom on a 30 year old son...
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Officer
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
Not to show, sadness or concern in front of my son. My only child. I never wanted him to go into the Navy or any type of military. I saw on TV in B & W was the Veit Nam war.iwatched our soldiers come home to America and they were spit on. I've buried that in my brain for 40 years. This Country treated all the kids and adults awful. My sn has been in the Navy since 3days after 9/11. My son has been deployed 3 times the first two times a two star general pulled him out. He left yesterday 2/5/12 and will be gone 440 days. When I pray for him I pray for all of our troops!, I'm not the only Mother who have children there believe me it's not that I ca t pray for just my son. . But that would be wrong. He and his wife just started their family. Everything the two of them do. They do together. I'm concerned my grand daughter will forget him. I'm handicapped and my husband is a high ranking police officer foe a very large city. I don't know how I can be there for him or deal with him going. Is there a war? I feel there is not one. If its terrorists then bring home our kids and lock up this country. Sorry I wrote so much. I need to find some answers or at least understanding. I'm ver proud of my son. He's a great person, loved by all. He was attending collage to become a minister but had to stop school to be deployed.i pray he comes home safe and sound and I pray his wife will be waiting for him. He married his first love. She has been a good wife and mother. She's the daughter I didn't give birth to but I love her that much.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
