OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

A little about me:
I'm a mother of four--three daughters and one son. I teach HS English and love to paint, bead, read, write, and sing. My husband and I have been married since 1979.
I am here to support my
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
To be supportive in every way I can. Whether it is Navy bumper stickers on my car, or displaying my son's photo in my classroom, or just encouraging him in everything he does, I support him. I save the worrying for behind his back.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

My step-dad had me write it. I will check in soon. Thank you everyone for your prayers and condolences. Continue

I would assume there's no harm in your photos on your page if he does not have a SEAL contract yet.  The new profile picture is very cute!

Hi, and welcome to the SEAL moms group.  Just to make sure you know, our group doesn't allow pictures of our guys on N4M's (their request), so if you think you might be posting there your profile picture would need to be changed, and especially if he goes out for SEALs his picture would need to be taken off the site on your page, too.  FYI, my son was deployed for the first time and was gone under seven months, so it may end up being about the same as a submarine deployment for your son.  Hard to predict, though.

Hi Kelley,
I have to chuckle at your comment to me, what did I learn? I thought "I have no idea!". Then I saw that I could see the whole thread and my comment was from August 2009! and I still have no idea what I learned.

How is the baby? DIL and son?
