Oh yeah, Spirit Airlines might show cheaper tickets, but they suck. I will never fly them again. They don't tell you at first, but they will charge you extra for everything. they will charge you for your carry-on bag! They will nickle and dime you for everything. Don't even expect a glass of water from them if you are choking! (Yes, this is serious, it actually happened to my son. They tried to charge him for a glass of water while he was choking!!!) The seats are worse than taking a bus. But.... That's just my opinion.

Yep, I agree with what ProudMom says. I booked on Southwest, LAX to MDW (Chicago Midway). If you have to change flights, they only charge you the difference, no fees, no penalties. Book now, coz the prices will go up. I bought tickets last week, and when I checked today, they already went up $50! the longer you wait, the more you pay.  Also, the best rate I found for a rental car was with Advantage.Go to retailmenot.com and search "Advantage" for a coupon code. Can stay at Navy Lodge for $66/night, but they don't have a pool, etc. I paid $71 for a kitchen suite. Homewood Suites does sound good too!

Sorry, didn't know how to message you back. Still trying to navigate through N4M. I would book a flight through SouthWest Airlines. If your SR has any changes in their PIR date, you can change the date without paying a penalty. Would fly out of either LAX or Burbank which ever is cheaper. I reserved a room with Homewood Suites in Lincolnshire, IL. If you call their 800 # and give them the code listed on the MWR brochure your SR sent with the official formal letter, they will extend the Navy Rate to you. I booked a 1 bedroom suite-2 queen beds and sleeper sofa for $79.00 per night with tx. I would suggest if you are going to stay at this hotel, 12 miles away to rent a car. Hotel doesn't offer shuttle to Naval graduation. Receive car through your car insurance company for the best deals. You can either fly into MDW in Chicago or Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Can't recall the airport code, but I think it's MIL.
