Click on OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and the Page will open in a new window. Read the Page and follow the directions at the bottom to make change 3 (see the words in bold) to change "Anyone" to "Members" so that this page is no longer visible to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web. Don’t forget to click the “Save” button at the bottom.
There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.
Since you have a Sailor, you can change "At Boot Camp now" above to “Enlisted.”
If you get an error message, then look at the area/s in the error message and unclick all of the choices in the area/s and make choices closer to the question/s. Some choices may have changed since you joined.
Since your recruit has a contract for Aviation Boatswain's Mate - Fuels (ABF), join AB - Moms, Spouses of Sailors going to A-school in P-cola, Pensacola, FL A School: NAS and Corry Station, and Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola. You may also want to check out Airman Family and Friends.
The Rating Information Card for AB can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ab.pdf. (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.)
Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR, but may fly out on Sunday due to flight availability issues. Plan to leave on Sunday if you are able. See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
The AB ratings requires a 60 month (5 year) service obligation.
The Page, When Will the Recruits be Paid? and Information for Spouses, within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) has important information for you.
Divisions 287 and 288 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 (BST) together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.
Since your recruit is in one of the first two regular divisions in the TG, expect the "I'm a Sailor!" call about a week before PIR (probably on Friday). Calls begin around 2ish and go through 8 pm Central Time. Write to your recruit and ask when Battle Stations-21 (BST) will be so you will know for sure when to expect the call.

Hi, do you have a recruit in BC or a Sailor in the Fleet? You may want to join Girlfriends, Fiances, and Wives of Sailors.
