Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."
Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

Check out families with a sailor at Little Creek Viginia, Duty Station NAS Oceana, VA Beach VA, and/or Norfolk Sailors - Family & Friends.
Click on OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and the Page will open in a new window. Read the Page and follow the directions at the bottom to make change 3 (see the words in bold) so that this page is no longer visible to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web. Don’t forget to click the “Save” button at the bottom.
There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.
Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP Code to one that is not easily associated with you or your Sailor.
You may also want to update your "About me:" section.
They posted random pics. I saw my son in a few since they were marching. Hope you can see yours :)
When is your son's birthday and will he be 18 or 19? Joshua is just a character funny and loveable with a smile to light up a room. Miss him so much...
I see you have joined AECF - FCs and ETs; your recruit will discover his rating while in BC, usually near the end of BC. "A" School is in GL, so you will also want to join Great Lakes A School Q&A and GL A-school moms. You can also check out the Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes Facebook Page.
The Rating Information Card for AECF can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/aecf.pdf. The Rating Information Card for Electronics Technician (ET) can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/et.pdf and the one for Fire Controlman (FC) can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/fc.pdf. (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.)
You will be able to enjoy extra time with your Sailor following PIR. (See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend.)
Hah. I'm am medical biller so everything for us is numbers. I know numbers.
18,wow! My middle child is 18.
My son Joshua will be 21 tomorrow. He's my oldest.
You're way ahead of me. I was mixing the anagram up. Lol. Do you know what ship or division he is in yet? It would be funny if they were in the same unit if that's what they call it. I've been studying some of the literature but don't have the lingo down yet. Hah.
Hi! I'm very new to this too. At first I wasn't getting responses but I could read people's posts so I could see who had recruits that left around the same tme my son left. Then I started requesting friends. Lol. My son also will be staying at GL for school. He is going for AECF. What will your son will be going to school for?
