Hi:) Oh well after I give him a big hug at Grad I'll yell at him for not saying something when he called Monday night..lol..j/k I'll just be glad to see him when these 8 weeks are over.I'll have to ask him if he knows your son.I know several of them from the area that were keeping in touch  while in DEP via Facebook. No letter here yet and he hasn't called either home or his gf since before they left for BC but I'm assuming no news is good news.Letters should be here soon it's usually a week to 10 days after we get the box.I'm so glad they have this forum I wouldn't know 1/2 of the things I've learned if it wasn't here.Have a wonderful day and well...one week down..yay!!

Hi..no..I didn't know we could be there and to be honest I don't think he knew that we could lol..I've had to get most information from the forum or from his binder which he only read the parts pertaining to the recruits not family participation lol.Last I heard from him was he called Monday night and he & his friend were going to play video games.Your son's name wouldn't be John A. would it?My Jon shipped out with a John A why's I'm asking. They all seemed to have a pretty tight bond already<even the one's not leaving yet> from being in DEP together and from FB and that's a good thing makes transition into BC easier.Hopefully we get our letter's soon and hang in there once this initial 9 weeks is over things are more normal and there's email & Skype to KIT.:)

Hi!  Saw your post on Boot Camp Moms.  Just wanted to tell you:

The recruiter's address could be a little different than the one you will receive in the form letter in about 10 days.  That address will be written in your recruit's handwriting and it is the correct one.  The letters sent to the recruiter's address will get there, but if it is wrong, it may take a bit longer.   Just doublecheck it with your form letter address.

Also, the mail is held from the recruits for 2 weeks.  They also can't write for 2 weeks.  So your recruit will receive all of the letters you are writing now all at once!  They love that because you are their only contact with the outside world during boot camp.

Good luck to your recruit!  My son was at bc this time last year...It is a highly emotional time for all, but we are so proud of our recruits/sailors!
