OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

Navy help

Posted on January 14, 2016 at 8:24pm 10 Comments

My baby came home for Christmas and while driving back to base received a traffic ticket in Illinois. The cop told her she had to come to court Jan 25th. She informed him she was in the military and showed her ID and told him she would not be able to make court cause she will be deployed but was willing to pay the ticket.. The cop said he didn't care an they don't make exceptions for Military. Now, she apologized and wants to pay the ticket, however there has not been  a lot of help. She…

Just alittle heads up for those making upcoming travel plans for Navy graduation. I would not recommend the Ramada Inn in Waukegan. I was put in room 157 an as I walked down the hall it look like I was in a basement. The carpet in the hall was extremenly dirty and the hall smelled like a dirty cat litter box. When I open the door to my room, which took a minute cause the key wouldn't work, The smell smacked me in the face. It smelled liked a…

Miss Kim,

I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!!  We are a friendly, caring group of moms always willing to listen and support.  Please feel free to jump in and join our chats on the group page!!  We like to discuss everything from our sailors to our jobs, weather, whatever.  It's also a great place if you want to yell, scream, vent, cry - - there is no judgment involved!!!  You can ask any questions you may have, talk freely about your feelings, fears or concerns, or just chat about life.  We are all in different phases of our daughters Naval careers and we are always there for each other!!!  Brag about your sailor but also tell us when you are hurting because you miss her so!!!  Looking forward to getting to know you and your sailor!!

Also, I'm sorry to read your blog about your daughter's traffic problems.  Looks like she finally got some help getting it resolved.  And I'm sorry that some of those posts came across as rather harsh and somewhat sanctimonious.  I'm sure your girl realized her mistake and I agree that the officer could have taken a moment to explain to her how to pay the ticket without appearing in court.  Just my opinion!!  Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!
