OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Thanks. I hadn't yet gotten to privacy settings to limit account visibility. BTW - I'd selected "friend" as who I support via membership, yet your Profile summary above says "self." Must be a bug in how that data field got populated. Lastly - just want to ensure that my email address in profile is not visible to others & only used for internal admins to forward for alerts. Is that correct? Thanks for your help!

I see that you tell new members to change their Usernames if they contain their last names, but most of them in that situation also need to change the URL to their My Page. See change 2 in OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile)  (clickable link).

Dang you Autocorrect!  Although it was good for a chuckle  :)  Yes, Ruby caught it and send a message to say her daughter is now deployed.  Our best to her!
