DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

The Rating Information card for Avionics Technician (AV) can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/av.pdf. You may also want to join Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!! and check out Airman Family and Friends. AV Sailors attend common basic electronics training, after which they are selected for either the Aviation Electrician (AE) rating (Aviation Electronic - AE and https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ae.pdf) or the Aviation Electronics Technician (AT) rating (Aviation Electronics Technician (AT) and https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/at.pdf). Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

I got my first phone call today. My son said they have not gotten mail yet. he sounded tired. he said the food was good and all the guys he has met are nice. i asked him if he has been yelled at yet. he said no. at least not like he was anticipating. My son was asking me to research the post 9/11 bill and the Montgomery bill because they have to contribute $100 per month. He wanted me to find the best option. Have u and ur son looked at the options. My son was also able to call his brother.
