OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi Nicole...Well, I finally got a letter from my sailor!!  2 1/2 weeks isn't bad, though.  I cried and cried.  He sounded really good.  Said he's a flag carrier, just like my husband was, so his dad was a bit choked up, too.  He'll be easy to pick out at graduation.  Now I'm waiting on pins and needles for my 3 week call.  It can be any day.

How you doing?  Things goin any better?  I'll be honest, I find it difficult to understand why it's so hard for you parents to accept you choosing the Navy, especially when you come from a military family.  But, I'm sure there's a lot more to it that they just aren't able to communicate well.  Now that we can reach each other easier, anytime you need to talk...I'll be here.  I'll admit I don't check my email every day.  But, when I do, I'll look specifically for you. :)
