I hope the phone card is already activated I just did the same thing and was ready to go by another one. I'm going to go back to the store tomorrow and read what it says.

Hey, question: I bought a phone card, and the customer service rep said it would activate with the first call. Does that mean I have to activate, using minutes, before I send it to her?

I know my son would tell me it's silly, but what can we do? We are mothers. My son will be going to San Antonio, TX? How about your daughter?

I'm with you on that! its hard not knowing your mind tends to wonder. we stayed with her all day at meps and then at the airport until she left. I cross off the days on the calendar until PIR . knowing her she would most likely laugh at me worrying and tell me i'm silly LOL! Do you know where your son will be going to "A" school?

I notice you don't leave in Illinois, that must be even harder for you. I actually was able to go see him get sworn in then we said our goodbyes and he went to the airport to get the rest if the recruits. Every morning when I don't want to get up for work I think of them and how long they've been up and what they must be doing and that helps. I just try and figure out what they are doing all day. I've watch and read all there is in this sight but still wonder. Cannot wait for my first phone call or letter.

Thanksgiving was hard for me too but I keep telling myself what our kids are doing is just as hard ,most likely harder..if they can do this we can do this!!! its funny we as parents try our best to teach them the right and wrongs to be strong and now its my daughter teaching me and she doesn't even know it!!!! I believe they have a place called the Nex where they can get phone cards ect. so don't stress over that!! he'll be happy just to get the mail and hear from you!!  ;)
