My son is just 19 and my only child which I babied up until the moment he left....He started BC 3/7, we've never went more than 18 waking hours without talking/texting. I keep thinking with each passing day it'll get better and a letter would give me hope;majority was positive except the sentence afraid of failing a test and being asmoed (i'm nervous for him). I hope your recruit is doing great and you too  michelle

Reneric, listen.  We are all with you!   Start the week fresh and write him a letter tonight and send it snail mail.  Meanwhile, try to have your recruiter get the phone number for the post office there in Great Lakes.  Your express mail is in a safe place...if you or the recruiter could just TALK TO a real person at the post office and tell them what's going on, maybe they can try to deliver a 2nd time this week, during the week!  Don't give up...this has got to get better for u both...

prayers and hugs, we will get through this together!

Reneric,

omgosh, so sorry to hear about your son.  Maybe the guys in our DIV can help him make it through!  It's so hard not being there and being able to talk about it right away.  If he could just hang in there a little longer, it seems

like things get easier (a little) the longer they are there.  Praying for you and your son!

hi Reneric!

I haven't heard a word about the DIV C.O. or the make up of the DIV as to

guys and gals.  We seem to have some wonderful kids, though, based on the comments

for PIR 4/29/11....I would scan through the comments on PIR 4/29/11 and see what u can find out.  We are just BEGINNING to get phone calls and mail!  :)

Oh my gosh!!!  I'm so glad you heard from him!  He is absolutely right, being set back one week is nothing when you look at the big picture!  Bet he won't forget stamps again now that he knows how worried you were!  I wish the Navy allowed texting!  I think I would've preferred that INSTANT communication as well!  SO HAPPY for  you!  :)

They only get to write on Sundays, so I'm hoping every Thursday will be "happy mail day"! I hope this week it is for you and another N4M friend, Carla, too!  I agree it would be good to get out of the house...if it's not nice enough to walk, maybe go for a drive, meet a friend for breakfast or lunch (that gets my vote).  Something that will distract you so  you could take a little break from thinking and worrying.

UGH!  That is so frustrating! I hope you get something soon!  Either from the recruiter or ... even better a letter from your son!  The waiting is awful, I feel for you.

Were you able to get through to public affairs?  Or did your son's recruiter have any luck?
