OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

SandraDee,

I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!  We are a close, friendly, supportive group of Moms and look forward to getting to know you and your sailor.  I see you are new to N4Ms and your daughter is in boot camp now? My girls are also twins, one is a veteran already (went in right out of high school. and her twin is in now as an officer (went to college first).  Please feel free to jump in and join our chats on our group page.  You can ask any questions you may have, talk freely about your feelings, fears or concerns, or just chat about life.  We are all in different phases of our daughters Naval careers and we are always there for each other!!!  Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!!  Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!!

Don't forget to make at least change 3, but perhaps also changes 1 and 2.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info.

What is your recruit's rating (job/specialty) or field going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend.

Take care and blessings to you and yours.

My son called as the plane touched down in Chicago 30 minutes ago. Spent a lot of time in years today, but got to see him at MEPS for an hour, before he left for the airport, so,that helped. They should be calling in an hour or two....

If your Username does not contain your last name, you still need to make change 3 in OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile), but if it does, you need to make changes 1 and 2 as well.

Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP code to one that is not easily associated with your recruit.
