DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

A little about me:
I married a navy sailor 27 years ago. He finished his college degree, became an officer and retired as a Navy Commander after 30 years of service. He was having so much fun that I joined the U.S. Navy as a reservist 11 years ago, and now have achieved the rank of Yeoman Chief Petty Officer. My son Chris joined the Navy four years ago as a Navy Aircrewman. My sweet daughter Erin just left for Navy Boot Camp. We are a true Red, White and Navy(Blue) Family!

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?

When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
No matter how many times that a loved one leaves from home--whether it be from a deployments or basic training/OCS the parting and separation is still just as sorrowful and bittersweet. But the anticipation of reunion and the pride of being part of this Great Navy is even sweeter.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Thanks so much for offering that! I will tell him. So far, he likes it. He is working in the EXO for his ship (I don't say ON it because it is dry docked so he is in the FAF).
Thanks again!

Yes, in GL first week in Feb....brrrrr...but you know what? It was COLDER the weekend before and COLDER the weekend after. AND, my son had been asmoed a week...or we would have been there the weekend before....so I thank God for those small miracles! :-) We had a wonderful time up there...I love to VISIT snow...just don't want to live in it!

Awwwww.....your story was so so sweet! Wet kisses from 99 yr old men...yep, I agree with you...they can have whatever they want! So sad when those who have our "history" die though....I would have loved to have heard his firsthand account of Pearl Harbor...although it makes me so so sad. When that movie comes on tv, I have to step away during the actual attack scenes (even though Hollywood-ized, knowing that so many died....heartbreaking). Thanks so much for sharing this and I too hope he is by his little blonde CHICK!

Also, LOVE the pictures on here of you all. Seems like you all really have an exciting life with lots of love! Is that a picture of you with your dad? So sweet. That is my dad and mom (and nephew) in my piks. He has dementia pretty badly now...and it breaks my heart. He was always so protective of our family...I have a sister and brother. My sister is "rock"....and now....well, just so hard. I have a special place in my heart for our sweet elderly parents!

Hey! Thanks for the compliment! The picture of my sailor walking onto the plane always gets to me...he had just been home for leave after A School and was heading to his station. I was alone there with him (other son working) and was holding back the tears...as I turned around after snapping that picture, a man was staring at me with a slight smile....I knew I was about to lose it, so quickly turned and went to a corner by the window to watch his plane leave. Now...tell me...just how many piks do you thinK I really needed of his plane leaving the gate? I'm ashamed to say how many I took! Don't know when he will be home again (he's in VA), but I am going up there in Oct to visit. So excited because 2 N4M Moms I have met on here are coming down to meet me! YAH! One is traveling about 4-5 hours...so sweet of her!
Ok, I'm wordy this morning....sorry! Have a great day! -Dianne

I so look up to people like you who have been in the fleet...for wisdom! You are not too blunt....now, Angie on the other hand.....well, your posts aren't like hers! But sometimes she NEEDS to be blunt and to the point. I have very much enjoyed reading your posts. I think you do very well with them! Please correct me when I'm off base, ok? I try to be accurate with my info from what I know, but certainly welcome correction!-Dianne

Great post on the 8/27 site today about the RDC's. I don't like it when anyone talks negative about them...and try to intercept talk like that too. Even if posted in jest. You posted a great one to remind everyone about the jobs they have to do!
