I found out that the Sailor's Creed frame holds a 5X7 of the Sailor and also the division photo.

I haven't really looked at the info on the Meet & Greet.  We will be leaving DFW area at 5 am on the Thursday before PIR and will be picking up my mother on the way.  We probably won't hit Waukegan until around 9-10 pm.  It is just too expensive for 4 of us to fly and rent a car.  Especially when there are 4 of us that can take turns driving. :-) I'm sorry to hear that you are having to go through this while your husband is away.  Will he be home in time to go to PIR?

I understand how you feel.  This is my second time, but he is also my baby, so it is a little more difficult.  Zach is Aviation Ordinance and will do A school in Pennsacola.  I learned with my first one to keep the phone on me at all times.  Josh never called at the same time twice.  I'm looking forward to hearing how he feels things are going.  He was in band for 7 years (4 years marching) and I'm hoping that has prepared him a little bit for the strictness they will go through.  He also marched in the Rose Parade year before last so they trained really vigorously for 6 months to prepare for it since it is a 7 mile march while carying his bari-sax (the big one!) so I know that he can endure.  The biggest difference will be the amount of sleep he is used to getting.

My son left a week ago today. I got "the box" today. It has already gotten a little easier. I think the lead up was some of the worst, then the first coupe of days they are gone. But, it is getting easier every day.

So far, I'm doing pretty good. We had a hard time with MEPS as the first time he went, in May, they said that Dalton had nasal polyps and then I took him to our family doctor who proceeded to say that he did not have polyps. So we have been fighting to figure this out and we finally got things taken care of last week. My son was so relieved that I haven't really thought of anything else. I'm also very glad to be able to spend Christmas with him!
