Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

A little about me:
My son is leaving for Basic in July, 2011. He will then be heading to Florida for the Airman Professional Apprenticeship Program . He is 3 days away from his High School graduation, turning 18 in June and in July embarking on what we truly believe is a great path and career he has chosen to start. This is a very bittersweet, exciting and proud time in our lives.
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Waiting to leave for Boot Camp
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Needed to learn more about it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
...how positive and proud his mentors and recruiters have been and how much they encourage my son to take advantage of everything that will be put before him and not to waste time. This is an amazing opportunity and should not be taken lightly.

Hi Zaxmom, I wanted say hello. My son left for Japan last year and is stationed on the U.S.S. George Washington. He has been in the navy for a year now. I joined this site because I lived in Oakley on Concannon Dr. for about 10 years. I moved to Ohio four years ago but still have strong connections in Oakley. I hope all is well with you and yours and God Bless.

Hi, yes it is getting close and I am so excited I can hardly stand it. No Texas its not mine, my son played football. I would like to know who that is also. I hope they are all making friends and getting to know one another. I look forward to meeting all of you. I would like to get more information on the ribbons. Do you happen to have a picture of one?

Hi thanks for replying. I would really like to talk to your friend that has son in 298. He goes to San Diego for A school but I am not sure when he is leaving. I am hoping and praying it is not until Monday and I get the entire week-end with him. I am not sure if he goes by nick name Texas there, it is possible. His nick name is snuff but they could have nick named him Texas. He has never told me that but his letters are so short due to not having much time to write. Where is your sailor going?
