OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If your Username contains your last name, you need to make changes 1, 2, and 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). (If it doesn't, you still need to make change 3.) It's not a good idea to post a pic of your Sailor every time you post, so make change 4 as well. There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Don't worry. You'll get the hang of it. To go to our private San Fran group. Click GROUPS on menu bar, then MY GROUPS (in tiny letters), then click the icon with the Golden Gate Bridge.  Posting a comment - same process.

Darn. I think I lost my first comment so let's try this again!!
Hi bolinbunch!! Nice to meet you and to know our boys are together. I'm flying southwest into midway. I arrive tues 26th at 435. I heard the boys will hv thanksgiving with us. My son thinks he has Friday too since he leaves for school (aviation machinist) on sat so I'm coming back sat. Southwest doesn't penalize you if u need to change so that's why I chose them. I'm renting a car and staying at the navy lodge for 66.00 a night (no tax and includes continental breakfast). Lodge is one mile from base.
Welcome and look forward to more chats!
