Hi cbc mom: Thank you for the good advice re my sailor's phone and excessive roaming charges.
I texted him last nt and told him to out his phone on airplane mode rt now, and then go online to Verizon and add me as an account mgr on his account. ( I learned this after cslling customer svc last nt.)
Then I can talk to Verizon and see if they will adjust these roaming charges.
I told him to set up VIBER account rt after he arrived; as his DivO had suggested when I asked, but he didn't do it and has been communicating via FB Messenger at least to us.
Since this tour in Japan ends ib earky August, probably no need for him to buy a Japan phone, correct? How much do these cost, Can he purchase at the PX (when he returns to Japan of course?).
He was probably making calls to US from Japan to talk to a girlfriend.

He was stationed in north island and left for japan in december as well as your son. He was suppose to leave in jan. his squadron is hsm 77 as well.
