OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Usually the sailor in a box takes weeks to get home. While i was in BMT i manage to give my mother a phone call as soon as i got there and another phone call about 2-3 weeks later on depending on there RTCs. He should be receiving your letters around week 2 after they are done with there P days.

When did your recruit leave for boot camp? Have you received your "sailor in a box" yet? For me it was a love box--I didn't get upset over it. People react differently. We just laughed--pants turned inside out--stationery we thought he was to take was returned, etc. Anwers all came later when we saw him at graduation (PIR.)
