My son, David, is currently in Basic Training - scheduled PIR 10/15/10.  He was unable to pass his running test the first time and he was off by about a minute.  Other than that, he is thriving and…Continue

No problem! I am still figuring this out myself. My son is going to Pensacola for A school, so clear across the country from me. If he was coming closer it mught be easier, :)

Hi Merry. My recruit is Ray and he is scheduled for A school in Pensacola. We live in NC and will attend graduation. We are staying at the Ramada and are planning to attend the meet and greet at the Ramada and the one at Anastasia's. Where are you staying? I noticed that you mentioned in some conversation with another mom something about a cold or something your son (or maybe another's son) had. Ray called last night and said that he had run some fever for about 2 days with a terrible sore throat and cold. There may be something running around. He was feeling better and on target to complete training. He has passed both of his other PT tests, but was feeling a little anxious about this one since the cold. So naturally, we are little bit nervous about the upcoming run. I pray he'll be OK. I look forward to meeting you at graduation.

I agree! We both need to be there for our son's! I have given it to God, I just hope I don't take it back, which is a big fault of mine, lol. I have packed our suitcases, and am going under the assumption we will be there. Today I am actually calmer than I have been for the last 2 weeks. Tuesday will be the rough day, I know. So I am praying I go to bed Tuesday night having not heard from my son!

Yes my son called when he did not pass his running test. He did nat pass because his lungs could not suck in enough air due to still recovering from pneumonia. He told me that if we do NOT receive a call on Tuesday (when he does his run) it means he passed. So right now I am praying like crazy for no call on Tuesday. I am still nervous because he had not passed it before he got sick. I just want to see him, and if we have to push back again, it just won't happen.

Thanks for accepting my friend request! We live in Maryland but originally I'm from PA. My son Mattt is also an older recruit. He is 23 and seems to be very happy there.
