Well, so far his classes have been very challenging and not easy. He is kinda like a very good student - he could be a professional student for a living. I think he prefers to be in school than work, ya know. But he said it's hard. And, they have homework on the weekends as well as at night. That must suck. He did get an A on his first test so I hope he does well. I have heard that a lot of people aren't able to finish the program. He said his teachers rotate and this week his teacher is mean. He said he's wondering if the first one was only nice b/c it was their first week. Oh, and he has a roomate again now. His freedom was short lived. I wonder what it is about our guys not being fond of their roomates??  If you see my son.... run up to him and give him a hug from me!!  I'm sure they all kinda look the same with buzz cuts and camo's!!  I know you can't take pictures on base but pleaaase take pictures of something and post them!!  KC just went to a huge free concert in San Francisco on Sat. and didn't take pictures. ugh. Have fun!!  I'm so excited for you ..... and jealous!!

That's great news!!  I was just thinking about you wondering where you've been! Anything going on with him exciting? KC just started his actual school yesterday. Haven't talked to him so I don't know how it went.  And his roomate got moved so at the moment he has the room to himself which he is VERY happy about, but that could change by this afternoon! haha. So jealous that you get to go out there. I can't wait to hear details of what it's like. Keep me posted. And if you happen to run in to a tall, handome sailor named KC give him a hug from his momma!!!

That's really bizarre. According to KC he should be in phase 3 by Labor day w/e. And believe me, he has not had perfect inspections, so I know that doesn't hold him back. He had a few 'marks off' on the last 2 inspections. you must be really frustrated. I wonder what is going on? Are you still planning on going Labor Day?

Oh my God!  when you go out there to see your bf.....find my KC and give him a big hug for me!!  He is somewhere on the 2nd floor - hunt him down if you have to!!  I'm JEALOUS!!

Oh? I'm sorry, but I'm sure by Labor Day he will be in phase 2. I don't know what determines how they move to the next phase. I asked but didn't understand his answer. Something about taking tests or passing tests or doing stuff. I wasn't real clear on it. Maybe he will phase up on Monday.  In fact, I'm sure he will!!!!  (thinking positive so you can buy your airline tickets!!)

Oh, and by the way..... as far as taking the college class - might not be for everyone. KC has a very special talent... school is like second nature for him. It's what he does best. For him, taking a class is like riding a bike. I swear, the boy could be a proffesional student! I'm sure a lot of people would like to enjoy the break, trust me. He took college classes while in H.S. and then in college he already had enough credits to be a Junior by the end of his freshman year!!

don't know if he phased up, but my younger son was just texting him and he wrote back that he was moving into a new room right now. I wonder if that means he passed the 1st phase?  I just shipped him som civilian clothes and a few other things that I wanted to give him at PIR but either wasn't allowed to bring it on the plane or wouldn't fit in his back pack. It cost sooooo much to send. You know what? I'll bet he did "phase up" b/c he said as long as he doesn't get in any kind of trouble he will be allowed to wear civilian clothes this weekend... and now he is moving into a new room...sounds like a phase 2 to me!

You should recommend your bf to take a college course while waiting for school to start..... I just found out that KC gets to walk off the base 3 days a week to go to college (it's a mile walk). He stops along the way at different restaurants and has a nice meal while he's out. Yesterday he stopped at a Mediteranean Cuisine place. How sweet is that???? hahaaahahaha. considering they haven't phased up yet to leave the base, it's a nice way to get off the base at least for a bit.
