I couldn't resist since you have a cow picture!  We were in Washington a couple of summer's ago (last road trip before our son left for the Navy) and my dad has cows....I stood in front of this cow for literally 30 minutes trying to get a picture...this is what I finally ended up with. Too funny!

Welcome jfrier and congrats on your son's PIR!  You will find lots of good info on the nuke sites - feel free to ask questions as someone will be able to answer for you!  My son is getting ready to graduate Power School on 12/13 and then he is on to Ballston Spa, NY for Prototype school.  You all are in for an exciting adventure!

Good morning! I just got a letter from my SR and he confirmed that he knows your SR and that they are both nukes so will be flying to SC together. Mine says "we will have a good time in SC!" I hope they do and I can't wait to meet you at PIR!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband was a Navy nuke! We were married just before boot camp. He now works at a nuclear power plant. It's supported our huge family for many years! I talked to my son this morning. He recognized the name "Frier". Assuming that's your name? He's the RPOC so needs to learn names quickly.

He'll be heading to Pensacola.

Join PIR 11/27/2013 TG 03. I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Since your SR will be in the Nuclear Field, you will want to join NUKE moms and you may also want to check out Nuke A School FAQ. The Rating Information Card for NF can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/nukepower.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend within  Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) to help you know how to plan your weekend.
