Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My recruit told me last Saturday that he will find out an exact time somewhere around week 6.  So far, he has only been told that he departs on Saturday.  From past posts that I've read in different places, that time can be anywhere from 2 AM-7 AM.  I will let you know something as soon as he confirms with me.

GREETING FOR NEW INDIANA MOMS

Hi "JLKeene," and welcome to Indiana Moms! I'm the administrator for the group, so if you have any questions, please ask. My son is a Nuke MM serving on the submarine ALABAMA, based out of Bangor, WA. He's been in for 4 years.

Since you're near Indy, please know there's a monthly informal dinner on the west side of town, in Avon. You can find any month's dinner details by clicking on the 3rd Monday of the Event calendar (right-hand column). From time to time, we also have regional gatherings in various parts of the state.

This month, we're having our dinner tomorrow, December 13, at Charbono's Restaurant in Avon. We'll gather for drinks and chat at 5:30pm, then be seated at 6:00pm. We'd love you to join us - and you're welcome to bring family or friends!

Jump in with any questions or comments you may have. I think you'll find we're a nice bunch of folks and always willing to lend an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. Hugs! k.
