I'm sorry we never got to meet! Andy did mention your Andy and said he was going to stay in contact with him! I hope PIR was great and wasn't it so exciting to our sailors in uniform! Keep in touch!

O'hare is right around 30 miles from the base. It is mostly expressway driving, which can be tricky if there's a lot of construction going on. Is your son going to be grad and go? We are staying at the Springhill Suites in Waukegan, which is around five miles from base and they offer a shuttle to the graduation. I hear the line can be very long trying to drive on base. But, they do this every Friday so I'm sure they must have it down to a science!

Thats is all such EXCITING news! I too have my plane ticket and all. Where will you be staying? I will be at the Ramada. I can't believe we only have 24 more days. Your sons on ship 7 div 206 right? Whats his name again? I'll write my hubby and ask if he knows him. Its crazy that there are only five of us with the same ship and div. and yet theres like 70 people in them. how are you and everybody holding up?

June 4 is our graduation date. We were going to fly, but the chance of him getting his PIR date changed made us decide to do the drive. We're flying up there at the end of June for a wedding so it could get expensive for us! You might want to just keep an eye out on flights. Not sure if you have Airtran or even Southwest, but I know Airtran will run killer deals about a month out.

Hey there ! sorry I didn't get your comments until a couple minutes ago. I usually just bounce right to the groups. But my son is 20 and his name is Jamie, so they probably do know one another. I hear there's around 80 in each division. We're actually going to drive up since I have plenty of vacation time. My family is right outside of Chicago, so we'll stay with them one night and then to the hotel in Waukegan on Thursday. I've heard that you can check into flying into Milwaukee that it was a little cheaper. My daughter misses her Jamie so much! It's amazing how queit it is with just one person gone around here!

Welcome to N4M. Your key to adjusting is finding support groups – Click on the underlined links:
1. New Moms Stop Here group. Think of this group as your orientation station. We have experienced members who can answer questions and point you in the right direction.
2. Depper’s… in but not yet . is a group for those just waiting for bootcamp to start (Delayed Entry Program)
3. Boot Camp Moms group. Is your son/daughter already in bootcamp? This is the group.
4. OCS Graduate Moms or the NROTC Moms. For those going to be an officer or going to NROTC?
Read this blog on how to use the N4M site.
