He also said he got his uniform and said that it was "sweet".

It took three weeks to get a phone call and letters,…

Yes, those who are Ship Staff and have responsibilities behind the scenes have those same responsibilities behind the scenes at their own PIR and the two before. See 800 and 900 Divisions within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I invite you to join that group while you are there as well.

Joyce0822, please wait patiently for your form letter. It will come, I felt the same way when I heard everyone had received their "I am here phone call" My son left April 16th and i did not receive that phone call. I was scared, upset and worried.....Until i heard other moms on the site did not receive that phone call as well, I finally did receive that call on Saturday.. after that on april 22 i received his box and that Friday I received his form letter. It really is about being "PATIENT with the NAVY" I have faith and will receive that form letter and that long well deserved phone call.... :-}

Welcome to NavyforMoms.com.  My name is Ronny and my son has been in the Navy since February of 2012.  He is currently stationed in San Diego with a Helicopter Squadron.  He is an Aviation Structural Mechanic.  I hope you find all the info you are looking for here, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.  My son is 3rd Generation Navy, so I do know a little about the Navy..:)

If you have a new Sailor who is in Boot Camp, or leaving soon, visit CallsforRecruits.org and I will send you FREE Pre-Paid Phone cards for your SR to use while they are in boot camp.  I started that program when my son left for Boot Camp :)
Welcome Aboard and I wish your Sailor Fair Winds and Following Seas.
