DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Thankyou for your comment, Terri.... pleased to meet you . Yes, i look forward to chatting with you more . Yes, our day is coming on really quickly. I am so thankful for this site, all of the navy moms on here that have given us much needed information and advice and just listened. I am a single mother of three boys and to be honest , my life revolves around those three sweet young men of mine. My middle one is speaking to an army and a marine recruiter which makes it even tougher. The one headed out in December is 'the BABY' .... aughghg!! lol...... I am so many emotions all wrapped into one heart..... I am so happy and proud and sad and lonesome for him all at the same time. I am excited for him and fearful for him all at the same time. I know you are feeling some of the same things. I love this site so much . It has been beyond valuable and yet i feel like kindred spirits with all of you other mamas out there. When one mom is crying over receiving 'the box ' or one mom is crying over a deployment , i find myself shedding tears over their children so .... yeah, December should sure be interesting. If you hear wailing from Illinois in December, haha:) , you will know whats up..... I hope your day is awesome and your week blessed. Jamie
Hi, I am from Springfield Illinois.... My Son , Jared , leaves on December 4th for BC to great lakes. I am , like you , i am sure, over the moon with pride. Looking for other mommas at the same stage of the game...... Ummm, already shedding the tears, here...... lol........ :) Lots of helpful sites / info on here....
Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones); I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) beginning with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile); you may want to make changes 3 and 4. What is your future Sailor's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in December. You will meet others with loved ones leaving that day/week who may be in the same TG and have PIR together. Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month Before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC. I also suggest you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and begin checking out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions there.
Your future Sailor may want to join http://www.navydep.com to learn the ins and outs from the DEP point of view. Craig runs that and will steer him to some good links on there.
Hi Terri! I actually chatted with some really super ladies last night and got a lot of great information. Day 5 and I haven't gotten my letter yet with Matthew's address or "the box". I'm sure it will come sometime this week. I miss him like crazy and can't wait to finally hear his voice just so I know he's ok. I'm so proud of him! I can't wait to share stories! Matthew is suppose to be able to come home for a couple of weeks after he finished A school so he'll be home for Thanksgiving and his birthday! We're going to have Christmas while he's home since he won't be home for Christmas, I'm sure. Breaks my heart but this is reality now. Take care and we'll talk soon! We should meet for lunch sometime.
