OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Since your SR will go to “A” School for Mass Communication Specialist (MC), join Mass Communication Specialist and Parents whose Sailors are stationed at FT. Meade. You will also want to check out Fort George G. Meade, Md Facebook Page. The Rating Information Card for MC can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/mc.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Since you have an SR at the RTC, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted."

Hi, welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Your Username appears to contain your last name; if so, you should change that and the URL to this page. Numbers 1 and 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) will tell you how to fix both. There may be other changes you will want to make as well, such as number 3. Be sure to check out the other Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) as well. What is your future Sailor's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in September.  You will meet others with loved ones leaving the same day/week who may be in the same TG and have PIR together. Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month Before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC. I also suggest you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and begin checking out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions there.
