OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

RTC Graduation

**UPDATE 6/23/2022 - MASK MANDATE IS LIFTED -  Vaccinations still required

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Jen, how are you?  How is your guy?  I haven't been on here in awhile.  My son is an FC & going to VA.  What about yours?  Did you know Jessica broke up with him?  SOOO SAD!  I have mixed feelings about it.  Do you keep in touch with her still?  I don't know, maybe it's for the best.  What I do know is God has a plan for both of them.

Oh ok. I will be wearing a Navy Blue tshirt with "NAVY Mom" in yellow on it. So, ok, see you then - less than 3 days now. We are staying at the Quality Inn Waukegan, also.

Yes, get hotel with shuttle.  Our son is going to A school in GL.  Sorry, but I don't have time right now.  Talk later.

Oops - had Canyon Country mixed up with American Canyon. :(

Follow these instructions.

  1. Click on this link - it will take you to a discussion in one of my groups.

Watch the four videos, look at the Powerpoint presentation - it will give you a really good idea what your recruit will be going trhough. Click on the links on "HOW TO DO STUFF ON N4M" to learn how to use this site.

  2. Remember to check you status box (upper right) for messages on your Inbox, friend requests, etc.

  3. If you are using Internet Explorer, download Mozilla Firefox (free) and use it to print your parking pass for PIR. Parking passes are normally available about one to two weeks prior to the actual PIR date. Go here to get your pass.  You'll get a letter with the PASSWORD. KEEP THIS LETTER
  4. Next join this group to prepare for PIR
When you are done with looking at all the sites - you'll will know more than you want. Welcome to N4M. Good luck to your sailor. Have fun. Be proud. Buy tissues in bulk.

I know, it's so fast, but I bet they are happy about that.  I know my son probably is.  Good to have friends.  Do you know where you are staying during PIR yet?  We are staying at the Quality Inn, I think.  We won't call to reserve the room until Thursday, so maybe - maybe not.  Talk to you soon.
