Sorry it has been so long since I have been on.  I have actually gone to see my son twice.  They are hoping for 3rd phase which is overnight liberty.  The barracks they are in are very nice.  Ft. Sam is a large base and lots of stuff for the kids to do on their free time.  They have been in class now for 2 weeks and have had several test already. on a care package don't send any choclate as it will melt in the heat.  I sent things like pens, highlighters snack foods.  My son requested walmart cards so they can go to walmart and buy stuff like lunch meat and bread so they don't always have to go to the chow hall.  Let me know if you need anything or have any questions

You can go to her page and leave a comment for her.  Have you tried that? Or send her a message from her page.  I hope all is ok with her SR.

My boy went in with the attitude that it was gonna be pretty bad. He's not the type to tell me the truth if he thought it would make me cry. The fact that he is so tired he falls asleep standing up says it all. No, he was not exaggerating. I aksed him if he regrets joining and he said No. Thank God!! He hasn't had any major illness or injury - just sinus problems. We can handle that. He said 70 of the 80 people in his division failed the first fitness test! haaha, that made me feel so much better that he didn't stand out as the lone soul that didn't pass. He did pass swimming though. He told me to go ahead and book for the 17th, he's sure he will pass all tests on the next round. :)

Is your child ship 11 div. 203? Mines 204 and just made his first real call. He told me his unit isn't looking too hot either, but they had a  prolonged Pweek as well!
