Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

proudnavymom40,

You are very welcome!!!!  I'm hoping by now you got your I'm a sailor call.  Sometimes it takes awhile for all of them to get through the phone lines but I'm pretty sure everyone gets a chance to call.  I hope you hear from her!!!!

There is a chat here on N4Ms but I don't use it so I'm can't help you with that.  Sorry!!  But I was referring to staying in touch with us on the group page just by posting your comments and letting us know how you are doing!!!  And of course any news about your new sailor, leaving for PIR, and then telling us about it after!!!!!

I hope you enjoy every moment of your daughter's PIR and your visit afterwards.  Hope everything goes smooth as silk!!!!!!!

proudnavymom40,

I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!  I'm glad you found us. So your daughter is in boot camp now and ready to graduate in a few days? Come join the chat in our group - there is usually someone on every day. We are a friendly, caring group of moms who have daughters in all stages of Navy life - from newbies to those whose daughters have been in for several years - from officer to enlisted!!! We support all our sailor girls and each other as well. Not just during the bootcamp days but the weeks and months following, as they go off to school, first duty station, or first deployment.  Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!!  We look forward to getting to know you and your sailor!! And I see you are from Ohio!!!  I was born and raised in Chardon but left right after high school.  Then I moved back and lived in Mentor from '03 - '08!!!  There is also an Ohio Navy Moms group you might be interested in!!!  Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!

NO, the RTC considers it a breach of security for another recruit to place names on the Access List for another shipmate and if it is discovered, the Sailors involved can lose Liberty and may be delayed in leaving for "A" School or training. It has also been mentioned that all of the guests on the Sailors' lists could be denied access as a result, not just the extra/s. DON'T put your SR and a shipmate in the position of getting in trouble so soon before/after PIR. Those who are not on the Access List should wait in the hotel and watch PIR live at http://www.livestream.com/usnavyrtc or http://navylive.dodlive.mil/ beginning at 8:45 am CST. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend for more on how to plan the weekend.
