OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I see you have joined NUKE moms; you may also want to check out Nuke School Charleston and Nuke A School FAQ. The Rating Information Card for NF can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/nukepower.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC, and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Hey I saw your post on the girlfriends group. And I just want to say from me going through it right now. I actually will be seein him graduate on November 15 so I'm almost done with the whole boot camp experience. thank God. Lol but same here I spent my last night just holding one another and talking. But more holding. And the next day we just chilled until he had to go to the hotel and then I said my goodbyes at the airport. Which was sad we both cried. But promised each oter to be waiting for one another. :) I would have to say the first two weeks were my hardest. I cried like everyday. He didn't know because I wanted him to be strong and keep focus over there. He also needed me to be strong. So I couldn't tell him in my letters I was sad. I always sent him sweet letters and cheerful ones. That's what you should do. He needs you more then ever right now. You need to be his rock. :) it's okay to be sad but when you get those phone calls keep an upbeat attitude. :) I honestly feel it made my relationship stronger with him. We are both more in love then ever. He thanks me all the time for being there and not giving up through this whole new life. But I look foward to our future and I know it's going to bring us a great life. It's not going to be easy but it's worth it. At least for me it is. My daughter and I couldn't be more proud of him. You can do this. I feel way stronger now from what I was in the start. I wish you the best of luck. Just write and write all the time. :)
