OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Profile Information

A little about me:
Single Parent to an only child (son) who just left for Bootcamp July 1, 2014. Very proud & excited for my son I wanted to join the Navy after I graduated High School, but I found out I was pregnant & chose to raise my baby boy.

When my son was around 11 or 12 yrs old he started talking about the Navy, then not long after that the local newspaper in our home town announced that his future High School was going to offer The NJROTC, so he joined & participated in it for 3 yrs.

During his Jr. & Sr. year(s) in High School, I wanted him to know his options for his future, we attended College Days to learn about different schools, but he was very well set in his mind that he wanted to join the U.S. Navy so I supported his decision 100%.

My main focus in life has been my son. I am very grateful for this website, it has been helpful. I have received so much support on the FB "Navy for Mom's" page as well. I pray for my son & all future Sailors/Sailors of the United States of America.

I plan on going to his Graduation in Great Lakes with God's willing I will be there.

Mean while I am spending time with my Great-Aunt Helen who will turn 91 yrs old next mo

God Bless the U.S.A.

Was proud and encouraged it
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

I got my letter! My Son will be Graduating Boot camp Aug 29. I've Booked my stay. Now I will search for Airfare tomorrow morning. With God's willing I will be at Great Lake IL next month!

I also got a telephone call Saturday Morning. It was so good to hear his voice.
