All Hands Magazine's full length documentary "Making a Sailor": This video follows four recruits through Boot Camp in the spring of 2018 who were assigned to DIV 229, an integrated division, which had PIR on 05/25/2018.
Due to COVID there is no public PIR. The graduations are on Thursday, and the video of the graduation is posted on RTC's FaceBook on Friday at approx 3pm. Please keep in mind that a division may need to complete additional quarantine during training which will delay their graduation.
Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass isno longer needed to drive on to base for parking.
Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.
Hi, "Bubbasmom," and welcome to USS Alabama Moms! I'm the administrator for the group. Sorry to take this long to greet you, but I've been very busy with Indianapolis' Navy Week. My son is a Nuke MM serving on the Blue crew. He's been in for five years. Which crew is your son on?
By coincidence, we're from Texas (moved to Indy with hubby's job three years ago) and my in-laws live in Elkins Lake! We'll be there next around Christmas.
Jump in with any questions or comments you may have. I think you'll find we're a nice bunch of folks and always willing to lend an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. Hugs! k.
Paige, thanks for the email. I am at work and don't have a copy of his paperwork, so I don't know his exact classification. I will check when I get home this evening and let you know. All I recall was it was submarine electronics. I will find out the particulars and let you know.I know what you mean about them handling their own things, now that they are "grown". I have to admit, I still feel the need to go behind him and make sure he is doing the right things, and asking the right questions. I'll get back to you about his official rate. Hang in there, and thanks for your support. It really helps.
You will find this site very helpful and full of members who are eager to answer your questions. Browse around the site and check out the featured forums, groups, blogs, photos, videos, and even the other member profiles!
