Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

A little about me:
My son just completed MEPS & will be departing for boot camp in Dec, 2013. I still have butterflies. Looks like I have many months to get used to the idea! I have been supportive with his choice for he needs some structure in his life. His job choice is a HT. I am still learning more about the job. He wanted to be in Damage Control, but it wasn't available, so he took the job that works with them. He really wanted to be a fireman. I am a single mom with 2 sons. One's married & the one that just joined the Navy lives with me. I am pretty much an empty nester now.

I am sorry I did not get back to you before tonight.  I have not been on my computer for a few days.  I finally picked a motorcycle moving company and I sure hope they do it soon.  I did the deposit Monday and turned in all the paperwork.  Just waiting to hear from them on when they will pick it up.  I am not a very patient person. I  was really hoping they would get it today or tomorrow.  My son has duty next Monday, and then the weekend after that.  He is so worried they will try to deliver it when he can't go to meet them. Thanks for you offer though! :)

Since you have an SR at the RTC, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted."

I see you have joined your PIR group; I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there.

Make change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link).

Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Hi Seaport,  Welcome to Heads at Ease.   Your son has left or is just leaving for boot camp.  You are in for an adventure.  My son is a 5 year Navy vet now and I am glad to have him back in town.

Welcome to NavyforMoms.com.  My name is Ronny and my son has been in the Navy since February of 2012.  He is currently stationed in San Diego with a Helicopter Squadron.  He is an Aviation Structural Mechanic.  I hope you find all the info you are looking for here, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.  My son is 3rd Generation Navy, so I do know a little about the Navy..:)

If you have a new Sailor who is in Boot Camp, or leaving soon, visit CallsforRecruits.org and I will send you FREE Pre-Paid Phone cards for your SR to use while they are in boot camp.  I started that program when my son left for Boot Camp :)
Welcome Aboard and I wish your Sailor Fair Winds and Following Seas.
