Where is he going to A School?  It is possible that they will have him on "hold" at GL because they don't have room at his A School barracks right now.  That doesn't happen too often, but it does happen.  If they have barrack space, they normally send them to A School and then they are on "hold" there until they can class up.  Is he positive that he will not be flying out next weekend?  Plans can change.  Has he done BattleStations yet?

Hi Aurie'sMom did you ever make it down to San Antonio?  What did you do?  Is your son graduating on the 22nd or 29th?

My daughter started boot camp on Jan.22, 2013.  She is at Great Lakes, and will go to A School in gulfport.  i am new to all of this too.  I just take it day at a time.  I miss her every day.  She said that it was going good and she can't wait to get to A school for Training and start her Journey.  I am very proud of all she has done.  Where in columbia are u from?

It was not bad tears - the SRs were so proud of themselves - I'm sappy sometimes and cry for happy things too - weddings, graduation, etc:)

Haven't been able to do much with my daughter since I have the flu.  I am hoping I will be well enough to go to MEPS on Tuesday.  I am feeling better today so should be ok by Tuesday I think.  She wanted to spend time with her husband and son anyway so I probably would not have seen that much of her anyway.  Her husband will not go to MEPS since it is a 2 1/2 hour drive and his daughter is in school and needs to be home when she gets out of school.  I doubt that we will go to boot camp graduation (PIR) but her husband is planning on going.

Are you ready for Tuesday?  I realized that I am getting more nervous for her the closer the time went.  I am more nervous than she is I think but she's always been a very calm person.

I've been busy watching my grandson as his parents were both sick with this stomach virus, and getting ready for Christmas so haven't been on as much lately.  Yes, I did watch Craigs BC account and it was pretty interesting.  Trying to make this Christmas special as we will not be seeing our daughter much this next year. Are you doing a going away party for your SR?
