Wow, can't believe he would be doing that to her now of all times.  Is he one who doesn't need much to push him to an extreme??  I mean divorce because she is being forced out of bootcamp????  Whatever their reasons are will be part of her medical records which she should make sure she asks for before she leaves.  If that's not enough for him I don't know what else he would require.  But I doubt anyone would actually write up something for her to prove herself to him.  I sure hope everything works out well for her!!

Your daughter sounds like an extremely strong, determined young lady!!  I am so sorry your son-in-law was injured while serving.  Please pass along to him my sincere thanks for his service.  Your daughter is right, she tried it and it just work out for her.  Nothing wrong with that.  She needs to be proud of all she has accomplished so far in her life.  With all the problems in our nation's economy and unemployment so many young men and women look to the military as an option to get an income while they figure out what they want to do for a living.  All of the services have high enlistment numbers and have to try to cut some so as not to get overmanned.  I think that's one of the reasons they are so picky about who stays and who goes.  I hope she gets to get back home to her family soon, and can move on to bigger and better things!!!  Please keep me posted, I will keep her and her family in my prayers.

You are in a difficult position for sure.  I hope your daughter gets your letter soon and realizes you are still there for her, supporting her, and most of all loving her!!  And it has to be a little stab in the heart to hear about other moms excitements for their sailors and knowing you are not in the same boat with them.  You have my upmost respect and prayers for you, healing, peace and comfort!!

I know this is such a difficult time for you, your daughter, and the whole family.  Yes, dreams are crushed, there is no denying that.  You know your daughter better than anyone, she may need some time to digest this on her own and wants to push others away.  Or she may need someone who can just listen to her vent and "get it off her chest" without judgments or "solutions".  As far as an address to write to her, according to the Ship 5 group page this address should get mail to her:

I saw where you joined Moms of Daughters 2 group and I wanted to send you a welcome and tell you a little bit about our group.  Then as I read some of your posts on your profile page, I noticed that your daughter is being sent home after being there just a couple weeks.  I am so sorry as I can only imagine how crushed you must feel.  I won't go into details but my son had problems joining back in 2002 because we all went to a family therapist when he was a young teen.  He had an older brother and twin sisters.  However it seems the Navy really has this stigma attached to anyone who mentions therapy, depression, or being on any kind of meds.  My son appealed and was able to join in 2003 and has been in ever since.  If there is anything I can help you with, please don't hesitate to ask.  Again, I am so sorry for your girl and I wish her all the best in all her future endeavors.

FAQ about SEPS indicates that phone calls are authorized daily, but the recruits may not have access to phones every day to make calls. Those in SEPS are usually able to go to the NEX at least twice a week--females on Monday/Wednesday and males on Tuesday/Thursday--and sometimes on Saturday and the recruits are able to access the phone banks on those days and make calls if they have a phone card.
