Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi Vickie, I am OK! Emotional week...I am nervous too about the FBI! I wish they would have done this stuff prior to boot camp. But I suppose, that would be a waist of time if they didn't make it through Boot Camp! Uggghhh!! It is all a waiting game.

Hope you have a good week-end, we are getting 6 inches of snow in MN tonight...pretty but COLD! This weather better not come in two weeks!

((Hugs)) Can't wait to meet you!

My son's school Advanced Electronics and Computer Field is in Great Lakes....I have no idea how long I will be able to be with him after graduation. At this time I will return to Oakland on the Monday after PIR. I can always change the airlines. I have taken 2 weeks off from my job so I am ready to be flexible. Thanks for your info. I just figure this is the Navy and all will be revealed in time. Oh, well. :)

I am so happy for you. A long phone call and a letter. I have nothing yet. I did give my son a phone card but maybe it was not one he could use. It was activated. He should get the stamps I sent him the Sunday. Maybe there are things beyond his control that prevent him from communicating. He did not leave to go to bootcamp from my home. He was already on his own. Maybe he doesn't feel the need yet to write or call. A mother will just wait.

Thanks for being my friend. My son will graduate boot camp 1/21/11. I have my plane and lodging reserved already. I depend on my N4M friends and all of the info on this site. I have not yet received a letter. I did get "the letter" whth a sentence at the bottom from my son..... On that letter it tells you who your SR has designated as the official list of who is invited to PIR by him. That was an interesting feeling for me. Clearly it was not MY choice. He is his own man!!! I am glad for this.
