OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Staying connected

I check my email and face book page multiple times a day. I feel disappointment when there is no activity, but it makes my day when someone has posted. I look forward to whatever someone has wrote no matter what the subject is. Anything makes me feel that much closer to my SR! I just want to take this time to say thank you to everyone for their sharing, you have made my transition into being a Navy mom much easier :-)

Under three weeks!

I didn't get a letter this week, but that's ok. I figure no news is good news. We are on the down hill slide with BC. When my SR left I thought it would take forever to feel this way. I can't wait to leave for PIR, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, I hope my SR (and yours) can too. Go 02/903!!

Now with him off to do his own thing I am back out there. Yesterday I was helping my husband with the first snow fall of the year and we were both missing our son big time for two totally different but similar reasons. I, for having this chore back and my husband for having to put up with my way of shoveling (he and our son had a… Continue
