POST PIR REFLECTIONS

Reflecting on last Friday's PIR, I can honestly say I am full of anticipation and hope for my daughter in her new Navy life. I just watched 589 men and women graduate and become sailors in the finest military institution. Am I biased? Yes, but I shared the day with an old sailor, my dad, a Navy Reservist who spent 14 whole days on the same base almost 60 years ago. Journey of 1,000 Days

I can't believe I'm almost an empty-nester!  Seems I've been waiting for this a loooong time. And yet.... I know I will miss them all!  Let me tell you a bit about my journey.  When I married their dad 26 years ago, I wanted nothing more than to be a stay-at-home Mom and wife.  Through God's grace, I had the privilege of doing just that.  I was able to manage a busy household of five on one income, paid once a month at the end of the month for 21 years.  God led us to home educate…
