Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Battle Stations

Can anyone provide info regarding completion of Battle Stations excerise, once the recruits complete & passes it how long before they are allow to make the phone call home to notify the family they are "sailors"?

Graduation

Does any one know if the Great Lakes Metra stops across from the Base or is the stop within walking to the Base?

Graduation nearing Dec 17th - Any Suggestions

We are staying in Chicago the whole weekend with our sailor, however she will be require to stay on base for 5 hours after the graduation ceremony. Any suggestions if there is stuff to do there on base or near the base? Or we should return to the hotel & wait for her there? Take train to Great Lakes or rent car, they say driving is awful if one doesn't know their way around in town?

Blessed all the VFW's that sponsor the Thanksgiving Day Food

Our Thanksgiving Day was fantastic as we got a surprised call from our granddaugther, she sounded & is doing great. It really made our holiday as an exceptional blessed day. She was with a group of recruits that were bused to a nearby VFW for a day of relaxing, cell phone access, TV, video games & great food.
