Does any other mother of a sailor ever wonder this? I wonder how did I ever get so lucky or blessed to have a daughter grow up to be a proud member of our US Navy. I wonder this everytime I talk to her. It is sometimes very hard to believe that this little girl, a person that I raised and tried to instill everything that I thought was right and respectful, grew up to be a US Navy Sailor. Someone to defend out country and not think twice about it. It absolutely amazes me to watch her grow the…

One week until I get to go see my wonderful daughter!! My birthday present to myself!! Can not wait. She is still doing great at A-School, her grade point average is 95. She loves learning about all the heavy duty equipment and has made several friends. If she phases up to phase 3 she will get an overnight chit and be able to spend the night at the hotel with me and her dad. That would be awesome. I miss seeing her on a daily basis. I even told my husband that I even miss the mood swings she…

I love getting random texts from Danielle. I also love getting the random calls too! She called a couple of times last night. One to see how my day went and to tell me she got a 100% on a test on loaders yesterday. She was all excited. The other call was to find out what movie her and her friend was watching because she could not remember the name. Of all movies it was Sixteen Candles! Too funny! I also love being able to talk to her on skype. I have gotten to meet a few of her friends while…

She called last night and we got to see her. She looks wonderful. It was really nice to be able to see her. Internet is a wonderful…

Dropped Danielle back off at the base. It was very tear filled. It was hard leaving the base without her. I wanted to grab her and take her back home with me. I enjoyed every minute with my sailor. She is so grown up now it is unbelievable. I get to see her again in about 6 weeks. My birthday weekend. Can't wait for that already.
I cried yesterday too when I had to drop her back off at base. It really didn't help matters that the Toby Keith song American Soldier came on just…
