I am back from Graduation!

OMG! so much to tell everyone. First, if you are going to spend some time in Chicago, don't drive. Chicago has NO parking at all. If you do drive, make sure you set a side parking money. It is expensive and make sure you read the parking signs.

Graduation was awesome. All the sailors did a great job. We got to spend 21/2 days with my son. The weather got bad so we didn't go to far. Gurnee is a great city to find good eats. Lots of shopping and spending time together. My sailor, moved…

I was looking at my facebook, checking out all the pictures from the recruits Thanksgiving. Finally, I found a picture of him and some friends. He looks hansome in his uniform and most of all HAPPY. Thank you to all volunteers that gave up their Thanksgiving to make sure that the recruits had a hot meal and a Happy Thanksgiving. Most of all Thanks for the Picture.

10 days til he graduates!

I am assuming that he has passed his running. He has 10 days til he graduates. I mailed his last letter today. I hope he gets it. I think it will be okay. I can't believe that it is almost here. Everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving. Keep your phones on in case you get that call. My phone will be on and volume turned up.

After graduation

After my son graduates, do I need to bring him some clothes or do they wear a uniform all the time? What else will I need to bring?

Last I heard

Last I heard my son was worried about his running test. Is " No news good news?" or should I still worry. He should graduate in a week and a half. I don't know what to think.

Running Test

My son is at bootcamp worried about his running test. He hasn't past it yet. He can't seem to run a mile and a half in 12 minutes. Any advice?

After Boot Camp

So my son writes me and wants me to bring his game system, tv and all his video games to him after graduation. How much supervision is there going to be? I don't want to bring all this stuff because it will distract him fro his studying. All that game stuff was a huge problem durning high school. I don't want to encourage it at all. Any ideas of how life will be at bootcamp?

My son is not missing me so much anymore

Wow,how the tone has changed in his letters. He is sounding much better and looking forwarding to moving in his room. He has made friends and his didvision has earned a flag. He is so much more up beat. He even says that he is not missing us so much now.

I missed his first call home.

I am so upset. He called and I missed it. He was crying saying that he just wants to talk to me. I am so mad at myself.

Phone Call

I was hoping to get a phone call last Sunday. I didn't. I am so looking forward to that first call. I am afraid it will be both of us crying though. I am hoping that it will be soon.

My heart is breaking

I received my first letter from my son today, and it wasn't a very good one. He is having a rough time. He can't believe that he is missing us so much. He says he thought he was ready to leave and that he would be okay. But he says he has had some breaking down moments. What is a mother to do? My heart is breaking and all I do is cry.

PIR

When should I hear abour PIR? I haven't heard anything yet. I write lots and lots of letters that have nothing to say to him. Mainly because my life is boring. I have been trying to get other people to write him.
