For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

First Letter from my SR

I received my first letter from my son today! I was so excited when I opened the mail box and seen his letter. I didn't even get through the first sentence and the years were flowing. He's doing well and seems like he's adjusting being away from home, although he listed a few things he misses. He said he's eating healthy which made me chuckle a bit. It's only been a couple of weeks but feels like forever...He mentioned how excited he was to get his uniform and see his name stitched on it, he sounded so proud. I'm one proud mom too!! I'm so looking forward to the next letter!

Comment by Tricia on October 1, 2019 at 6:47am: I finally heard from my SR last night! I was so excited!! He missed the first round of calls. He had a tooth pulled a couple days ago and it didn't clot! He had to have additional procedure to stop the bleeding and then had to be in bed for a couple of days. He sounded ok, but only had 15 minutes to talk. Does anyone know if this will set him back on graduating? He didn't say and I didn't want to ask.

Comment by DaddysGirl on October 1, 2019 at 8:05am: We received 4 letters in 2 envelopes yesterday. Our daughter has had a rough start - emotionally. She asked me to write her and remind her why she is there. I think I remembered all the reasons she had given me prior to leaving. Each letter sounded a little better. I was happy to know that she has made a friend, although the friend had a setback with the timed running. Hopefully she did well enough the second time to rejoin the group. She does love chow and marching. Also, her hair is falling out. That is bothering her a lot. Any nutrition advice on that?

DaddysGirl - not sure about her hair falling out - maybe a combo of stress and the products she might be using. Hopefully it will stop and everything will be ok soon!

Comment by HaveFAITH on October 5, 2019 at 1:37am: First letter from my brother arrived today. Just in time for my birthday. I think that’s why he chose to send it to me. He passed his first PFA, but unfortunately failed his 5min prone test. He said that he will get his wisdom tooth removed and retest in the next couple of days. I’m assuming that all happened this week since the letter was mailed sept 30th I believe. Anyway, I just want to say that I’m praying everyday for him. The last line in his letter made me cry so
Badly ... he wrote “please tell mom and dad I love them and I’m surviving”. :-(

I called the Navy Public Affairs office and they said I should receive something this week. However, it looks like everyone else received their letters within 2 weeks. Has anyone else had a letter take so long to get home? Thanks!
