DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

The form letter will arrive about 10 days after her arrival. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening. You will want to check out the other Pages as well. Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in April, to connect with others with loved ones who left that day and may have PIR together. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. PIR is most likely 05/31/2013 and if so, join PIR 05/31/2013 TG 29. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups.

BTW, edit your Blog to add a Post Title. When you don't include a title, the NING program automatically puts the first 200 characters of your post in as the title and that gets pretty long. Click "Options" in the upper right, then "Edit Post" and insert a title.

My son just graduated last week. This site is soooo helpful. It got me thru a lot.  You should get a letter within 10 days or so. KEEP IT. It has parking pass codes and other info you will need. Watching my son leave for boot camp was the hardest thong I've ever done in my life! Letting go is HARD. Its the NO CONTACT that was so hard for me .We were pretty lucky and received about 4 calls during that time. Then he started writing us on Sundays. We live in Ga. so we would get our letters on Thurs.. I had something to look forward to on Thursdays:) Her address where you can send mail will also be in that letter. Yes I wrote my son every day!! I would get all sorts of funny cards and send letters with pics from home. The mail  they get is all they get from home. Encourage everyone you know to write her. My son says that's all they have to look forward to and it gets them thru some tough times. Write every chance you get!!! I cried every chance I got. I was completely miserable. I found that staying busy was best for me. I work so I threw myself into that. When I was home, I worked on small projects, cleaning out a closet, planting, yard work. When I was alone it was the worst. Its ok to cry all the time too. This site is filled with people that have been there girl. That's what its for. We are all in this together! Let me know if you need any other info. Im here to help!!
