OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

SInce you know the PIR date, go to http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that. I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there.

BTW, edit your Blog to add a Post Title. When you don't include a title, the NING program automatically puts the first 200 characters of your post in as the title and that gets pretty long. Click "Options" in the upper right, then "Edit Post" and insert a title.

I got the phone call on a Saturday, it was 10 days after the call you get to tell you they are ok and he would call us in a few weeks...so it was sooner than I expected, which was great.....then when I sort of expected a call and I didn't get it ..that was so hard...sure hope you get a phone call soon..
