OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

My youngest daughter left for basic training Aug 4 so her graduation is coming up soon!!!! I can not wait to see her!!!!!  I want to plan the weekend so as to spend lots of time with her sight seeing and just relaxing, however I have no idea where to start- I am not sure how long she will have, I read something about liberty but don't know how long she will be able to spend with us. My oldest daughter wants us all to go to the Sky Deck-- will the new sailors be able to do something like that on liberty? Do anyone know how far it is from the base....any suggestions for the weekend would be helpful.

Yes, she can do that. She must stay within 50 miles of the RTC. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend. Find out what your then Sailor wants to do.
