Good morning everyone!  My daughter is coming up on three years in the US Navy and every day, she expresses her commitment and her pride.  She says that this is the best decision that she has ever made.  It's been tough - she is stationed in Hawaii - 15 hour flight each way and is currently deployed.

I have read some of the other posts on this blog and I understand and sympathize with the other Moms who are just getting ready to start this journey - we are part of this journey!  What seems to get me through the hardest days (and I still have them) is knowing that my daughter is happy, proud and committed to being the best she can be.  She learns something new every day about her job and about the family she is serving with.  And, as a family, they support each other and watch each other's backs.

Your sons or daughters have a great experience ahead of them and, if they are anything like my daughter, they will exceed their own expectations.  Phone calls are precious- letters and cards are so important as are emails.  So, even after BC, don't stop!  It keeps them connected!

Thank you to all our service members - in all branches, and to our veterans!  I pray for each and every one of them every day!  And thank you to the families who miss them- your support and your sacrifices will not be forgotten.

Thank you to you and your daughter. It's comforting to hear that she is happy with her decision. My son is leaving the end of May and will be going to Nuc school. I'm so nervous for him. All I can do is pray him and myself through it. Please tell your daughter thank you for serving our great country!

My daughter is coming up on her 3rd year too. She is also currently deployed. She is on the Theodore Roosevelt CVN 71. She is an airman... aBH3. There is a bit of trouble in Yemen right now.....but our Navy will handle it.
